October 2004 Communities

In October arrived Bella & Felix (Pan & Vulcan) from Germany, Maria (Vesta) then Rosa (guest) from Cataluña, & finally Lili (Flora) from Belgium.

One of the most stressful groups we´ve had here, mainly due to having to adjust to a new programme and especially trying out everyone doing the co-counselling for the first time (with people who didn´t wanto because they´d enrolled earlier as wwoofers).

PlayShops in October: many spanish & english classes; making cheese, milking; design of current society & RC model; making gofio chocolates; the new 13 month calendar; Findhorn guidelines for communty; compost toilet designs; saving water & energy; design for goats & chicken. Trips to: resource pick up points; caves (bio-construction); Finca Tierra; the Beach!

Rosa (from Cataluña, interested in the community) came for a visit, and she loved the Finca. Even though we had much communication difficulties, we left as friends and she says she will try to come again with more time.

Maria, after 3 weeks in the Finca decided that 'she will stay forever'! She´s a brilliant Vesta, it is wonderful to have her here.

Finally the landlord gave permission to repair the tank, after one of the goatlets fell in during the summer (she´s fine).

& our cat Ron (ronronera=purry one) returned home! To guard the mouse.

If there isn´t a Flora (or any other role), I do it, and before Lili arrived, I planted a little field of potatoes ...La Palma style (we also have potatoes in tyres), and now I´m taking care of them.

FL organization: trying out the new programme and re-designing as we go; organising the workshops and trips; helping the new team find their way around the Finca; managing the difficulties which happen (many this month!); managing all the new application - for the action learning programme but also for the community: even people from Findhorn are interested in moving to Finca Luna...

Halloween was a lovely party with visit from neighbour Lani, and a 'castañada' (roasted chestnuts dinner) by Maria and storytelling (of the very interesting origins of this festival) by Lili.

Stella (con Salamanca), Felix, Maria, Bella (con Toby)	Comunidades Octubre 2004 En Octubre llegaron Bella y Felix (Pan y Vulcan) de Alemania, Maria (Vesta) y luego Rosa (huésped) de Cataluña, y al final Lili (Flora) de Bélgica. Uno de los grupos más estresantes que hemos tenido aquí, para la mayoría por el hecho de tener que adaptarnos a un programa nuevo y especialmente probando lo de hacer co-escucha todos, por primera vez (con gente que no lo quería hacer porqué se habían inscrito antes como wwoofers).

Talleres en Octubre: muchas clases de español e inglés; hacer queso; ordeñar; diseño de la sociedad actual y modelo de RC; hacer chocolates de gofio; el calendario nuevo de 13 meses; guias de comunidad de Findhorn; ser pro-activo/a (1o de los 7 hábitos); diseño de baños secos; ahorro de aguas y energía; diseño para cabras y gallinas. Excursiones a: sitios de recojida de recursos; cuevas (bio-construcción); Finca Tierra; la Playa!
Rosa (de Cataluña, interesada en la comunidad) vino de visita, y les encantó la Finca. Aunque tuvimos muchas dificultades de entendimiento quedamos amigas y dice que intentará volver otra vez más tiempo. 	Maria después de 3 semanas en la Finca decidió 'que se queda para siempre'! Es una Vesta estupenda, es bellissimo tenerla aquí. Aquí con Salamanca en la azotea mirando al mar de nubes... Si no hay una Flora (o cualquier otro rol), lo hago yo, y antes que llegó Lili, planté un campito de papas... a la Palmera (también tenemos papas en ruedas), y ahora lo estoy cuidando.
	FL organización: probar el nuevo programa y rediseñar sobre la marcha; organizar los talleres y escursiones; ayudar un nuevo equipo a moverse en la Finca; gestionar las dificultades que van surgiendo (¡muchas este mes!) con la gente; manejar todas las nuevas inscripciones - para el programa de aprendizaje pero también lo de la comunidad: hasta gente de Findhorn está interesada en transferirse a Finca Luna... Halloween fue una fiesta bonita con visita de una vecina, Lani y castañada con boniatos por Maria y cuentos (de la origen muy interesante de la fiesta) de Lili.
